What Does God Say About Boundaries?

January 29, 2024 by Brooke Wessel

God’s Boundary System Explained

Listen to the podcast or watch on YouTube

You matter. Your life matters.

And when you own that truth, you can live treasured and walk in the light, to be a light, so that others can live cherished too (Exodus 19:4-5, Peter 2:9).

God has a perfect boundary system designed to protect what is precious to his heart and this includes YOU! But what is precious to God, Satan loves to attack with his destructive lies.

Do you ever hear thoughts like:

  • You’re a disappointment to God. How could he forgive THAT?
  • You can’t trust God to take care of you. You must fend and fight for yourself.
  • God’s ways don’t bring freedom; they confine you.

I have heard all of these lies…and they reinforced my codependency!  Why would I want to depend on God if I believed these lies deep in my heart?

When I started spending time in God’s Word for myself, I saw everything differently….. because I was looking through the lens of truth with eyes of faith. Here’s what the Holy Spirit has written and sealed so strongly in my heart is that I can live in confidence, security and best of all GOD-DEPENDENCY!

  • God delights in caring for me.
  • God is my defender.
  • God is for me and is behind me.
  • God wants to liberate me to live a fulfilled life!

God’s boundary system puts me in the security of his care and protection but most of all, it LIBERATES me to live a fulfilled life and become the woman he created me to be.

Do you want to live in this freedom too?

Listen to today’s teaching message and open the gift of God’s boundary system to live in freedom as God intended.

ONWARD!

Breaking Generational Patterns

January 15, 2024 by Brooke Wessel

How to Break Free from Your Past

Listen to the podcast or watch on YouTube.

We do not have to live our lives stuck in patterns we may not even fully understand. We aren’t alone in the search for the root of our pain, and we don’t have to go into what can be a painful experience alone.

Christ is before us, behind us, and with us. Ask Him to lead you to the pain of your past to allow for genuine and real healing. As we seek Him, we can understand our own hearts and the triggers they have.

We have a lot to relearn, a lifetime of lies and deep-rooted pain, but the power of the cross transcends through time to right those wrongs and confront those lies.

God’s love is not afraid of where you’ve come from.

No matter how toxic, He does not see you as too far gone…

You are simply and wonderfully HIS.

In today’s teaching message, discover how to let God’s love reclaim your heart and mind to break generational patterns. One day at a time, one step at a time, you can leave blessings in your wake for generations to come.

ONWARD!

Godly Girl Power

December 31, 2023 by Brooke Wessel

What Is God’s Solution for Codependency?

Listen to the podcast or watch on YouTube.

In a world that teaches us to depend on sources other than God, it’s easy to become codependent and lose our identity. I know this… I’ve been there.

At Treasured Ministries, we’re on a mission to help women conquer codependency God’s way, so they can find their voice, develop healthy relationships and thrive.

This is what I’ve learned in my journey of breaking free from codependency: To walk in our purpose, we need to plug into Godly girl power.

So, what is Godly girl power?

Godly girl power is God’s all-surpassing power. This is different from worldly power.

Paul taught the Ephesians about God’s all surpassing power.

“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources, He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit” Ephesians 3:16

~

“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the Heavenly realms” Ephesians 1:19-20

Those truths that Paul taught are timeless, but having God’s power through the Holy Spirit and tapping into this all-surpassing power, are two different things.

Listen to today’s teaching message from the book of Ephesians, dive into Godly girl power and live in confidence no matter what you might be facing today.

You’ve got this! ONWARD!

Love,

Aliene.

Spiritual Pain with Dr. Michelle Bengtson

December 5, 2023 by Brooke Wessel

Codependency and Spiritual Pain.

Listen to Our Podcast Below or Watch the YouTube Video Here

You no longer have to fear the darkness. The light of the world is here!

Spiritual pain can follow physical pain, emotional pain, relational pain, grief and loss. This can be devastating, as the spiritual pain inflicted by the enemy drives a wedge between you and God, hindering the healing process.

In other words, spiritual pain compounds our wounds. That dark stubborn cloud of depression can settle heavy on our hearts.

But through awareness and with God’s help, you can heal.

Let’s turn on the lights …shall we?!?

Healing begins when we recognize that spiritual pain is often the unseen wound beneath the surface and pretending or pushing the pain down does not work. No matter what you’re going through, know that you’re not alone. Together with God, we can ALWAYS find the light in the darkest of moments.

“The light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5

I had the honor of interviewing Dr. Michelle Bengtson on spiritual pain for her amazing podcast, Hope Filled Perspective, and today we are sharing this message with you. With almost three decades of clinical expertise as a neuropsychologist, best-selling author Dr. Michelle Bengtson is here to unpack the healing process for Spiritual Pain.

Ready for hope and healing? Listen to today’s message.

Blessings,

Aliene

What is Emotional Abuse? – with Leslie Vernick

November 22, 2023 by Brooke Wessel

What does the Bible say about emotional abuse?

Listen to the podcast or watch on YouTube.

Hello ,

Emotional abuse is often diminished or dismissed for many reasons – even in the church. When this happens, the lack of validation can feel confusing and powerless for the victim, but this is not God’s way.

At Treasured Ministries, we believe God calls the church to be a resource, not a roadblock, for victims of emotional abuse. Our vision is to see a world where every woman is free to live the life that God intended for her.

After all, every woman is precious and holds immeasurable value in the eyes of the Lord.

Today, we welcome Leslie Vernick, author of “The Emotionally Destructive Marriage” and “The Emotionally Destructive Relationship,” to discuss emotional abuse. Listen to today’s message and discover the answers to these questions.

What is emotional abuse?

How does emotional abuse impact our lives physically, spiritually, and mentally?

How can abuse lead to codependency?

What are the first steps to heal?

God does not condone any form of abuse.

Listen to today’s teaching lesson, pass it on to others to bring awareness to emotional abuse and let’s see freedom for every woman.

With Love,

Aliene

Hope After Loss

November 14, 2023 by Brooke Wessel

How To Find Confidence After Loss

Hello friend,

Losing means starting over again. It takes courage to see a blank canvas with hope. But as God’s child, life always follows loss.

Jesus is our Kinsman Redeemer. He watches over his word to perform it. He is the ultimate promise keeper… The problem is that faith can fade when faced with loss and trauma.

Have you lost your hope and confidence?

Life brings burdens; those burdens cannot break you when you fix your eyes on Jesus. There you will find hope to remain undaunted to see your redemption.

You cannot change your past, but you can ask your Abba Father for a step of faith today to change your tomorrow.

In today’s message on Ruth, we will gain biblical steps of faith to go towards your new beginning.  You’ll find that small steps will lead to larger ones and create a pathway to your next chapter. Just like Naomi and Ruth, you too have a Kinsman Redeemer who is far greater than any Boaz and will bring you into a living hope.

“Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.”

Psalm 126:5–6 NLT

Your new chapter is right around the corner.

ONWARD!

Redemption

October 31, 2023 by Brooke Wessel

Codependency and Grieving Loss

Hello there beautiful soul,

While all loss is difficult; loss as the result of someone going outside of God’s design to meet their needs to the detriment of yours, is devastating. This is because when you are left holding the consequences of someone else’s choices – the loss is compounded.

And the damage that gets dumped into your lap is not fair…

You didn’t ask for these empty hands.

You didn’t deserve the loss.

And now you feel vulnerable, powerless, and insecure.

While it’s unfair, God stands ready to restore the loss so you can move forward. But you must take his hand. For God, not the person who caused the loss, is the healer. You are a child of God and loss is never the end of your story. Jesus is your Kinsman redeemer; his restoration goes beyond what you could have imagined.

Today, we begin a three-part series on God’s restoration from the first chapter of Ruth. Naomi loved deeply and lost greatly but eventually found hope and saw a harvest of restoration.

And with God’s help, you can find hope and see restoration as well.

So listen to today’s message, discover the first courageous choice to begin redemption, and prepare to heal and move forward.

ONWARD!

Love,

Aliene

Irrational Thoughts

October 24, 2023 by Brooke Wessel

How Do I Stop Irrational Thought?

Hi there,

Today was a hard-hitting, yucky thought day. Worry and fear danced in my mind as my inner dialog grew irrational; attacking me with aggressive arrows of lies related to a past hurt.

The enemy went after healed ground.

My shield of faith felt too heavy to lift against those attacking arrows.

It’s hard enough to deal with irrational thoughts. When you feel discouraged for having those thoughts in the first place, this secondary struggle just adds insult to injury.  I was feeling defeated, insecure, and downright frustrated.

I then recalled a powerful truth a mentor once shared with me that fanned the smoldering ember of my faith into a burning flame. “The power of the cross breaks every chain that the enemy attempts to wrap around your thoughts.” You see, the enemy of your soul is not creative. He is the opposite of our Creator. So when we are reminded of past hurts, it is only Satan up to the same old tricks he has been using since the garden.

Is the enemy attacking your thoughts? He is playing those games because he knows the God-given potential you hold.

In today’s message, find what you need for faith-filled thoughts that will lead to a life of purpose and freedom.

Ready? Let’s go! Treasured Ministries is on this journey with you—every bold, beautiful, brave step at a time.

ONWARD,

Aliene
