Letting Go for a Greater Harvest

April 27, 2021 by Aliene

God uses women to carry hope because he created us to nurture new life physically and spiritually, but often that means letting go for a greater harvest which is not easy. The courage to let go comes looking back at the many women before us who arose and carried hope into hopeless situations. Freedom for a greater harvest flows out of those willing to let go and embrace the new season. True worship requires a costly choice to let go. Changes in life prevent us from holding onto the provision instead of the Provider.

Finding the Courage to Let Go and Move On

April 20, 2021 by Aliene

Often it’s hard to find the courage to say “no,” and we find ourselves living a busy but barren life without balance, joy, or fulfillment. But when we seek our creator as our compass, we find a holy filter that helps us confidently make decisions so that we can “release” and receive God’s best. God-ordained boundaries bring balance to you and blessing to others. Guard your time with God’s guidance to give yourself fully to your purpose. The more God-ordained structure you create, the more freedom you have to follow Christ. In today’s podcast episode, discover how God ordained direction defuses distractions to make us more productive by living with intention.

Kosher Lips

April 13, 2021 by Aliene

“Oh my staaarrrrssss!  Stop the music!” These are the words I wanted to shout out during my interview with author Lois Tverberg when she mentioned the “Kosher Mouth.” I had never heard that before, but wow, did God ever use our conversation to convict me and challenge me to build mouth muscle to bless (lots of mic drop moments, if you know what I mean). The concept of consecrating your mouth is critical because the simple fact is that words matter.

Do you find yourself self-deprecating as if it were no big deal? Do you wonder why the words others speak over you are hard to shake? Are you ready to take a challenge that will change your life and the lives of those around you?  LET’S DO THIS!

Lois is the author of Walking in the Dust of Rabbi Jesus, Reading the Bible with Rabbi Jesus, and co-author of Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus. Lois has a Ph. D in Biology and taught as a college professor before discovering her fascination with Jesus’ first-century Jewish world. She left a life in academia to devote herself full-time to teaching and writing on the topic, and now has been at it for twenty years.

In-law Issues

April 6, 2021 by Aliene

Are in-laws creating issues that are negatively impacting your marriage? God’s design for marriage is for children to “leave and cleave,” but sometimes, a parent’s need to control can prevent God’s perfect design of letting go to let a marriage find its own identity. If you are a daughter-in-law and find yourself in this situation, how should you navigate respectfully to set biblical boundaries? If you are a mom with older children, how can you be a rockstar mother-in-law as God intended? We will ask marriage expert Dr. Kim Kimberling these questions and many more on today’s podcast. Join us! And please share with others whom you may know are facing this issue.

Dr. Kim Kimberling has been a professional counselor for over thirty-five years. He holds a Ph.D and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Counseling. Passover’s Timeless Purpose

March 30, 2021 by Aliene

Imagine you knew you only had a short time left to live and wanted to share a last meal with loved ones. Whom would you invite? What meal would you share together?

Of course, not everyone knows when their time on earth is coming to an end, but Jesus did. Before the dawn of time, the Father designed a plan to redeem us from sin through the sacrifice of his one and only Son. Our Savior. Our Lord and Passover Lamb. The time had arrived on God’s kingdom calendar for perfect love—and the entire reason Jesus came to earth—to come to pass. The passion of the cross.

“And Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father” (John 13:1 NLT).

As with everything he did, Jesus intentionally chose his last actions on earth with divine precision down to every eternal detail to fulfill his Father’s plan, including the words he expressed to his beloved disciples over the most significant Passover meal in history.

Today please join me and my special guest and author Lois Tverberg, for a discussion on the timeless purpose of Passover and what this means for your faith today. You Can’t Hurry the Harvest

March 23, 2021 by Aliene

They say you can’t hurry love… and you certainly can’t hurry the harvest. Our great God redeems. But in-between the time of loss and ashes and the arrival of a harvest of redemption – there will be a wilderness season where we see nothing. Sometimes the waiting period is a dark, cold, and lonely time before we see those first sprouts start to grow.

But this NEVER EVER EVER means God is not working treasured one! We’ve been talking about this A LOT recently inside our Treasured Tribe community and one member shared something pretty darn cool with our group about how a harvest grows and what this tells us about our great God.

And…. oh my stars… It was SO fabulous I asked her to share it on our Live Treasured Podcast.

Are you waiting on God and need some encouragement in your wilderness season? Join my special guest Olivia Bowden on our podcast today and water your faith with the word and watch it grow!

Scripture to Accompany Your Weekly Devotional: In Deep Waters, He is There

March 22, 2021 by Aliene

Isaiah 48

The Savior of Israel

But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
When you go through deep waters,
    I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
    you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
    you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom;
I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you.”

“Do not be afraid, for I am with you.
I will gather you and your children from east and west.
I will say to the north and south,
‘Bring my sons and daughters back to Israel
from the distant corners of the earth.
Bring all who claim me as their God,
for I have made them for my glory.
It was I who created them.’”

Bring out the people who have eyes but are blind,
who have ears but are deaf.
Gather the nations together!
Assemble the peoples of the world!
Which of their idols has ever foretold such things?
Which can predict what will happen tomorrow?
Where are the witnesses of such predictions?
Who can verify that they spoke the truth?

“But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord.
    “You are my servant.
You have been chosen to know me, believe in me,
and understand that I alone am God.
There is no other God—
there never has been, and there never will be.
I, yes I, am the Lord,
and there is no other Savior.
First I predicted your rescue,
then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.
No foreign god has ever done this.
You are witnesses that I am the only God,”
    says the Lord.
“From eternity to eternity I am God.
No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.
No one can undo what I have done.”

The Lord’s Promise of Victory

This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:

“For your sakes I will send an army against Babylon,
forcing the Babylonians to flee in those ships they are so proud of.
I am the Lord, your Holy One,
    Israel’s Creator and King.
I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters,
making a dry path through the sea.
I called forth the mighty army of Egypt
with all its chariots and horses.
I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned,
their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick.

“But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Romans 8:14-39

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

The Future Glory

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 45:3

And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness— secret riches.

I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord,

the God of Israel, the one who calls you by name.

The Narcissist’s False Apology

March 16, 2021 by Aliene

Are all apologies authentic? NOPE! Discernment of a real apology is key to maintaining your free will, so you can surrender it to God completely. Forgiveness is for everyone – but not trust. And especially if you have codependent tendencies – guilt can drag you back into an unhealthy situation just like gravity.

Now – as a former codependent, I often found myself inside relationships with narcissistic individuals. But God led me through a heavy, heavy pruning season to SET ME FREE! And now I am passionate with a capitol P to share what the Lord has taught me. You see Treasured One, God does not want another person to have emotional control over you (For the love of Pete!!!!!) – you’ve got a purpose and you can’t have the pull of control dragging you down) You CAN make new choices today to walk in FREEDOM tomorrow. Listen to the podcast today and become wise to walk in surrender to our great God! LET’S DO THIS!
