Praying God's Word

Redemption

October 31, 2023 by Brooke Wessel

Codependency and Grieving Loss

Hello there beautiful soul,

While all loss is difficult; loss as the result of someone going outside of God’s design to meet their needs to the detriment of yours, is devastating. This is because when you are left holding the consequences of someone else’s choices – the loss is compounded.

And the damage that gets dumped into your lap is not fair…

You didn’t ask for these empty hands.

You didn’t deserve the loss.

And now you feel vulnerable, powerless, and insecure.

While it’s unfair, God stands ready to restore the loss so you can move forward. But you must take his hand. For God, not the person who caused the loss, is the healer. You are a child of God and loss is never the end of your story. Jesus is your Kinsman redeemer; his restoration goes beyond what you could have imagined.

Today, we begin a three-part series on God’s restoration from the first chapter of Ruth. Naomi loved deeply and lost greatly but eventually found hope and saw a harvest of restoration.

And with God’s help, you can find hope and see restoration as well.

So listen to today’s message, discover the first courageous choice to begin redemption, and prepare to heal and move forward.

ONWARD!

Love,

Aliene

Pray for Afghanistan

August 17, 2021 by Aliene

Finding Freedom From Fear in an Insecure World

The world is uncertain. Jesus told us that we would have trouble in this world. He followed this with a command for us to take courage inside our insecure world “take heart for I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Our King remains on the throne. Take heart, treasured one! Take your courage, do not let the threat of darkness in our world push you to throw it away (Hebrews 10:35).

Draw a line in the sand against the enemy, “We will not let evil win.”

Praying God’s Word: Take Your Authority Against the Enemy

Inside that same passage of scripture in John 16, Jesus reminded his disciples to pray in his name (John 16:23-24). There is nothing more powerful than praying God’s Word. While the world is uncertain, God’s Word stands forever.

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

In the parable of the persistent widow, Jesus reminds his disciples to “always pray and never give up” (Luke 18:1). Jesus tells the story of a woman – a widow who was relentless with her cry for justice to an unrighteous judge.

And against all odds, because a woman was persistent, justice prevailed.

At the end of the parable, Jesus says:

“Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”(Luke 18:6-8, emphasis mine)

Make a Difference: Let’s get an army of women praying.

Women of faith, where does Jesus find you today? Let our Lord find his treasured ones praying with God’s power – undaunted and undeterred. Let’s resist fear and rise up with dedicated devotion for our fellow women in Afghanistan to pray God’s Word with persistence.

Your Prayers WILL make a difference!

Below are verses you can use to pray God’s Word over Afghanistan and its people. We have also created a printable version with the full verses to tuck in your Bible to remind yourself to pray every day.
