Back to Course: 21-Day Challenge

Day 9

Instructor: Aliene Thompson

I am a “why” girl – I always want to know why I need to do something. Sometimes this drives my husband crazy. Other times my acute curiosity works in my favor because knowing the “why” to our “what” supplies motivation and inspiration.

For the next two days of the 21-Day Challenge, as we move into the Respond step of the Nourish Method, I will share the “why” behind the “what.” The “what” of Respond is answering the six IMPACT acronym questions. The “why”of each question and the way they work together are important.

Watch today’s video and take a deeper dive into the first three IMPACT questions.

Establish a foundation for this step for motivational support for the rest of your journey.

Today’s Assignment

Go back to Ephesians 1:1-11. Ask yourself the first three IMPACT questions of the Respond step.

  • Image of God to trust.
  • Message to share.
  • Promise to treasure.

Record your answers in the space provided on the note pages of days 9 and 10 inside the 21-Day Challenge section of your notebook.

Today’s Connect Question

For the first part it is verse 4 HE chose me before creation…to be holy and blameless…adopted and he has given us his grace. In the message, to give wisdom and understanding to make known the mystery of his will. He promise to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

ABBA Daddy is a good good Daddy. He Chose me before the foundation of the world in Christ Jesus. That we should be Holy as He Holy, blameless before Him in love. I am adopted to His sonship by Christ Jesus.Accepted in the Beloved. Verse 7 In Him we have redemption ( deliverance) through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace(unmerited favor)

Image of God to trust- Peaceful and Generous
Message to share- We are Gods beloved children. He offers forgiveness to those who ask and will bless those who actively seek Him.
Promise to treasure- God will unite all things in Him

Yes….you are already blessed. That is not future tense. It is already complete. This is something the Lord is currently teaching me. His work is finished. For myself I know I so often live like I am striving for spiritual blessings, freedom in Christ and all of those things when the fact is that scripture teaches that these things are already a reality. I am just starting to scratch the surface of understanding this but it is such an encouragement.

I’ve received the best inheritance that I will ever receive…I was claimed by God as his own! I was chosen, before I was even born. I have a destiny…and God will make everything work out according to his plan!?

Yes, one of my favorite verses is Romans 8:28 “All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.”

When a person goes to adoption, the child they adopt is
chosen…CHOSEN! Reminds me of the little story of a Dad and his little son are out in the woods and Dad slips behind a tree to see what his little one will do. The little boy looks and goes around the tree and sees Dad…He runs up to Dad and exclaims, “Daddy, I found you..”Actually Dad was there all the time and how many times do we hear about how people say, “I found the Lord”, when actually God knew where they were all the time. The Father adopted us,and kept His eye on us always.
Chosen, Adopted, Redeemed, Accepted, Forgiven!!! Awesome process! Awesome God!

I have been chosen, carved out specifically by Him as the creator.
I think of how people sign their paintings at the bottom. Well he has hand painted me and signed his master piece

Day 9. Promise to Treasure: He works out everything to His purpose. It reminds me that is when life is swirling like crazy around me God is there and that He can take even the worse situation and work it for good.

Image of God to trust: God has blessed me with every spiritual blessing. God is my adopted father. God lavishes me with gifts.

Message to share: God works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will. God is always working things out on my behalf.

Promise to treasure: first five we are adopted. For seven we have redemption and forgiveness. Verse 11 in him we are chosen.

Day 9. As I reread Ephesians 1:1-11 today (in the passion translation) the word “destiny” kept leaping from the page. God is the Giver of my destiny. He is a Planner. And just as Aliene said, there is more to my story… all of our stories! It blesses me and encourages me to read everyone’s comments and see how Jesus is connecting with each of us❤️
