Day 10

God has lavished His grace on me and blessed me with every spiritual blessing in Christ. It is my doubt and lack of faith that gets in the way. I need to remember He has adopted me and I am His daughter.

I am predestined- there is a will for my life that has already been written down. These are crazy times. So it’s good to meditate on the fact that these strange times are not a surprise to God. He has a plan for everything. He knows what I am going to do with my life, I just need to trust and keep moving every day.

Kayla, I have to remind myself often that none of this is a surprise to God. In fact I am promised in Romans 8:28 that as a child of God that even during this time God will work things for my good. I was reminded this morning as I studied of the famine in the land of Egypt during Joseph’s lifetime. God not only knew of the famine ahead of time, but warned Pharaoh ahead of time in a dream. Joseph interpreted the dream which catapulted Joseph to second in command of Egypt which was part of God’s plan. God’s plan was also to get Jacob’s family to Egypt. He used to famine to do so. The famine was a difficult time for all as we are currently in, however God used it for His purposes and for their good just as he promises in Romans 8:28.

I am struggling with correct terminology and coming up with answers that coincide with the examples given by Aliene. My anchor truth is the amazing revelation by God of the mystery of the gospel. Eph. 1:8-9
I have not followed the 21 day time-table, but follow with the next day’s lesson. I have trouble hearing the Holy Spirit. I feel like I am failing.( sorry to unload like this).

Sandra. God is a personal God. Upon accepting Christ as Lord and Savior His Spirit indwells us. When we open His word the Holy Spirit divides it how it needs to be divided. While the Truth is the Truth and will never change, the way the Lord speaks to us and applies the truth to our lives and circumstances will be very individual. Do not get discouraged if what the Lord is speaking to you through His truth is not identical to how He is speaking to someone else. If you are studying a passage and nothing is standing out, just keep moving. Sometimes if nothing is standing out I will just start writing what is going on in the passage. For example in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.” If nothing stood out I would write God loves us and sent Jesus so that we will have eternal life….then I would move on to the next verse or passage and do the same thing. Very quickly the Holy Spirit will begin to take over and speak to you. Do not be discouraged about the 21 Day time table. Just hang in there!!

I am struggling with “right” answers. I want to hear Him speak to me during this study. My Anchor of Truth was Eph 1:4 and I was so wowed when I heard that was Aliene’s anchor also. It has taken me more then 21 days to get to day 11 but I will not give in to quitting…..

Karen, it is not about getting the right answers. It is about connecting with God through His word and allowing His Holy Spirit to speak to you and teach you. You feel free to take as much time to complete the study as you need!! We are here for you along the way so reach out at any time.

Day 11. I love how the NLT reads for verse 3: “Let us honor and thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has already given us a taste of what heaven is like.” When I stop and meditate on this truth it overwhelms me and brings tears to my eyes. Because of the inheritance we have in Christ, we have been “given a taste of heaven.” WOW!! God is so good! HE is my anchor!

Shannon, oh yes – I love the moments when God meets us in such a personal way that we feel as if heaven has touched our hearts. When that Holy threat of his presences reaches down just to us it is a precious sweet gift when God meets us in such an intimate. I love that space! I love that you are here on this journey. Blessings, Aliene

v4 was the verse that stood out to me as my anchor. I have the ESV translation and mine reads like this “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before him.”

His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ, and this gave him great pleasure. Ephesians 1:6. I love this, He predestined this and He never changes. We are always in the family no matter what. Unconditional love!
